You have the right to access personally identifiable information we hold about you and to ask that your personally identifiable information be corrected, updated, or deleted. If you would like to exercise this right, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We take precautions to protect your information. When you submit sensitive information via the website, your information is protected both online and offline.
Wherever we collect sensitive information, that information is encrypted and transmitted to us in a secure way. You can verify this by looking for a lock icon in the address bar and looking for “https” at the beginning of the address of the Web page.
While we use encryption to protect sensitive information transmitted online, we also protect your information offline. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, billing, shipping or customer service) are granted access to personally identifiable information. The computers/servers in which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment.
Information we collect
When you visit the Site, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. Additionally, as you browse the Site, we collect information about the individual web pages or products that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the Site, and information about how you interact with the Site. We refer to this automatically-collected information as “Device Information”.
We collect Device Information using the following technologies:
- “Cookies” are data files that are placed on your device or computer and often include an anonymous unique identifier. For more information about cookies, and how to disable cookies, visit http://www.allaboutcookies.org.
- “Log files” track actions occurring on the Site, and collect data including your IP address, browser type, Internet service provider, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps.
- “Web beacons”, “tags”, and “pixels” are electronic files used to record information about how you browse the Site.
BookySpace also collects potentially personally-identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses for logged in users and for users leaving comments on our blog. BookySpace only discloses logged in user and commenter IP addresses under the same circumstances that it uses and discloses personally-identifying information as described below, except that blog commenter IP addresses are visible and disclosed to the administrators of the blog where the comment was left.
When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data displayed in the form of comments, as well as the visitor’s IP addresses and user agent browser string to help detect spam. If you leave a comment on our site, you can enable saving your name, email address and site in cookies of your browser. This is for your convenience, so you do not need to refill your data when you leave the next comment. These cookies will be kept for 1 year. If you leave a comment, it and its metadata is stored indefinitely. Thus, we can automatically determine and approve each following comment instead of keeping them in the queue for moderation.
Certain Site’s visitors choose to interact with BookySpace in ways that require BookySpace to gather personally-identifying information. The amount and type of information that BookySpace gathers depends on the nature of the interaction. For example, we ask visitors who comment on our blog or fill out forms to provide their name and email address. Those who wish to receive BookySpace updates via email, we collect their emails. BookySpace does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below. And visitors can always refuse to supply personally-identifying information, with the caveat that it may prevent them from engaging in certain website-related activities.
Additionally when you make a purchase or attempt to make a purchase through the Site, we collect certain information from you, including your name, shipping address, phone number, payment information and other contact information that you may provide to place and confirm your order (for example, email address, social media usernames, account links, other information that allows to contact you via messengers like Telegram, social medias like Instagram, Facebook etc). We refer to this information as “Order Information”.
From time-to-time our site may request information via surveys or contests. Participation in these surveys or contests is completely voluntary and you may choose whether or not to participate and therefore disclose this information. Information requested may include contact information (such as name and shipping address), and demographic information (such as zip code, age level).
How do we use the information?
We use the Device Information that we collect to help us screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and more generally to improve and optimize our Site (for example, by generating analytics about how our customers browse and interact with the Site) and to evaluate the success of our marketing and advertising campaigns.
Our purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how BookySpace’s visitors use the Site. From time to time, BookySpace may release non-personally-identifying information in the aggregate, e.g., by publishing a report on trends in the usage of its website. This aggregate information does not identify you personally. We may share and/or license this aggregate data to our affiliates, agents, business and promotional partners, and other third parties. We may also disclose aggregated user statistics in order to describe the Website and these products and services to current and prospective business partners and to other third parties for other lawful purposes.
We use the Order Information that we collect generally to fulfill any orders placed through the Site (including processing your payment information, arranging for shipping, and providing you with invoices and/or order confirmations). Additionally, we use this Order Information to communicate with you, screen our orders for potential risk or fraud and when in line with the preferences you have shared with us and permissions you have given, provide you with information or advertising relating to our products or services.
BookySpace collects personally-identifying information only insofar as is necessary or appropriate to fulfill the purpose of the visitor’s interaction with BookySpace.
Contact information from contest participants will be used to notify the winners and award prizes. Survey information will be used for purposes of monitoring or improving the use and satisfaction of this site.
